Your morning is the most important part of your day. It sets the tone. Attitude, energy, and focus are all set by how you begin your morning.

Here are 5 things to do before leaving the house that will help you make the most of your day.

1. Wake Up On Time

Wake up with intention at the same time every day. No snoozing. Uphold your first commitment to yourself. Not only is this the first success you can achieve for the day, it’s also healthy. Waking up at the same time each day helps you develop a good sleep rhythm, proven to help maintain consistent hormone and energy levels.

2. Drink Water

Down two glasses of water ASAP. You probably haven’t had a drink for at least eight hours and you’re probably a little dehydrated. Grab a quick drink first thing to give your body what it needs most.

3. Plan Your Day

Before you let the rest of the world in, define your day. Write down what you need to accomplish today to move toward your goals. Also, write down anything that may stand in your way. It may be a mindset, a person, or a hurdle you may come up against. Write down how you will overcome it.

4. Meditate

Meditation is to the brain what exercise is for your muscles. Not only does it bring clarity to what you may be experiencing now, it also helps you develop focus and discipline by practicing mindfulness.

5. Exercise

Even only fifteen minutes of exercise can have a huge improvement on your energy levels for the day. Get up, get moving, and move your body. It will have the best impact on your overall health, sleep quality, and maximize calorie burn first thing in the morning.

Developing a consistent, healthy morning routine is an amazing way to change your mind and body. It may feel like a struggle at first, but over time will be your secret weapon for success.
